“Puttin’ my defences up, ‘Cause I don’t wanna fall in love, If I ever did that, I think I’d have a heart attack……,” begun to ring out, having to flicker my eyes open. Groaning as I materialize my cell phone into my right hand and clicked ‘accept’. Yawning when I answered, “Hello?”
“Sura, did I wake you up?” the female’s voice asked, with a hint of a chuckle in it.
“Ya you did, Rora,” I snorted, slowly sitting up, “what’s up?”
“What do you think of having a girls day today? Treat ourselves with a manicure, pedicure, roam the beaches and throw in a soul snatching here and there?” she asked with a bubbly tone in her voice.
Aurora Nightshade happens to be my best friend and the same age as myself. We had grown up around each other in HELL, as well as around other demon families. Yet we had grown close as friends because of the same age, given the other demons we know were very much older then the two of us. The two ‘baby’ demons had to stick together, to survive this hellish amazing life. Replying back to her, “Hmm sounds very tempting, though I guess I could finally let you in what has been happening in my life lately.”
She asked in her usual demanding tone, “Like what? Did you meet someone already? Are you mated? Don’t tell me you’re knocked me. Are you?”
I seriously could have laughed out loudly over her questioning. “No, Rora, I haven’t met anyone or mated or knocked up. SO not ready to start a family of my own,” I reassured her calmly.
“Okay, what could it be that I don’t know already?” she asked, curiously.
I thought about telling her over the phone, but actually letting her see my horns and tail in person would be more effective then telling her over the phone. Plus telling her my father and the night out hunting with him. So I told her, “Oh… it just involves my father, Rora.”
I could hear her gasp even from over the phone. “What?!” she asked, “What do you mean? You found your father? What is he? What’s his name? What is he like?”
Letting out a soft laugh, I toss the covers off me and got out of my bed. “All in good time. Give me twenty or so minutes to freshen up and get dressed, and we can meet up here or in Los Angeles,” I smiled, stretching all over as I start walking towards the bathroom door.
I could have sworn I heard her huff before she said, “Fine, but I want details, Sura. I’ll pop right over there before we can go to my fave spa in LA to get mani and pedis.”
“Okay, just pop yourself into downstairs, like the living room or kitchen first,” i said, pushing the bathroom door open, flipping the light on with my mind.
“Alright. See you in twenty or so minutes,” she said quickly.
“See you then,” I replied back before we both hanged up and I place my cell down on the sink counter. Glancing down at my clothes for a moment, before materializing them off my body. Next I made my way to the shower, turning on the water and stepped right on in. Taking a quick shower, washing, scrubbing, massaging, and washing my hair. After rinsing all the stuff out of my hair and off my body, I turn the water off and stepped out.
Grabbing a towel I got on drying myself off all over, thinking over what I was going to say to Rora, how I was going to say it. She’s my best friend, and she certainly needs to know this transition about me, yet not everything. Once I was completely dried, I grab my cell, toss the towel over to the hamper, and walked out of my bathroom. Turning the bathroom lights out with my mind. Making my way to my closet, scanning through everything before materializing http://twitpic.com/cqlbpk on. Turning around to the full length mirror on my closet door, checking myself out.
A smirk spreading across my face when I hear my aunt’s voice calling up from downstairs, “Asura! Aurora Nightshade is here!”
‘Already?’ I thought, as I made my way out of my bedroom, down the hall and down the stairs. Rounding the staircase down the hallway towards the kitchen. Right away I see my aunt and my best friend there. One with a cup of hot lavender blood tea, the other just leaning against the island counter.
“Hey girlie,” Rora said with a bright smile, leaning away from the counter.
“Good afternoon, sleepy head,” my aunt added.
Glancing at both of them with a smile. Then turning my gaze to Rora, “Ready?”
She started walking towards me, “Oh you know it. I want to hear all about this father of your’s, Sura.”
Out of the corner of my eyes, i could see my aunt get all tensed while she took of her tea. “Where are you two young women are off to today?” she asked, glancing at us.
“Mani and pedi for starters, then Sura here is gonna dish on her father, and after that may go soul snatching,” Rora answers, glancing over at my aunt.
Whom gave me a stern look before a small smile spreads across her face. “You two have fun, okay?” my aunt said.
I nodded, while Rora said, “You got it, Andromache!” Then Rora and I dematerialize ourselves out of my aunt’s kitchen and head straight to her favorite city in the human world. Los Angeles, California.
